Alf Rendell Photographic Scholarship
Legacy’s commitment to pay $25,000 for the production of a special Tauranga book has paid dividends. Money made from the sale of Historic Tauranga From Above has been placed in an endowment fund, enabling an Alf Rendell Photographic Scholarship to be awarded annually, for many years, to a Bay of Plenty Polytechnic student.
At a special presentation recently Legacy Funeral’s Mike Savage, joined with Legacy Trust trustee Bill Holland in presenting the $51,203 made from the sale of Alf Rendell’s book. The top-selling book features photographs of Tauranga and surrounds, taken from the air by Alf between 1946-1956.
Bill says Alf’s scholarship is a wonderful legacy for the community, and says Legacy found it hugely enjoyable being part of the book project.
All profits from Legacy Funerals are distributed by the Legacy Trust to worthy local clubs, organisations, and projects such as this. Of course, no gifting could occur without the choice families make in choosing Legacy Funerals in their time of need.
