Keeping Things Sweet at Tauranga Foodbank

November 2017

Legacy Trust and Tauranga Girl Guides are ensuring things are sweet down at Tauranga Foodbank.

The two have again combined forces to add girl guide biscuits to the foodbank’s offerings. Legacy Trust has been supporting the Girl Guides through biscuit sales since 2011.

Legacy funeral director Annie Innes confirmed 1,020 packets of biscuits have been purchased this time around and destined for Tauranga Foodbank.

GirlGuiding organisation member Janet Reekie is thrilled that Legacy Trust, the Girl Guides and Tauranga Foodbank are repeatedly working together to help each other help the local community.

The partnership not only benefits foodbank patrons, but also the girls and young women involved in Girl Guides.

“The gifting of these biscuits by Legacy Trust helps us provide them with skills and self-confidence they need to make informed life choices, embrace life’s challenges, and make a positive difference to their own lives and the wider community,” she says.

Guide Biscuits are sold each year by GirlGuiding NZ to raise more than half of the charity’s funding.

Legacy is able to financially assist such organisations thanks to the choice families make in choosing Legacy Funerals in their time of need. All profits from Legacy Funerals are distributed by the Legacy Trust to worthy local clubs, organisations, and projects such as this.
